Alcohol Gauging and Blending Calculations
In this example the strength (concentration) of the alcohol spirit has been specified as 40 Volume % at 20°C and the AlcoDens calculator gives the freezing point as -23.3°C.
In this example the strength (concentration) of the alcohol spirit is being calculated. The temperature has been specified as -60°F and the AlcoDens calculator gives the strength of the strongest blend that would freeze as 150.60 Proof @60°F.
This calculator can calculate either
As can be seen in the screen shots above, the strength of the alcohol and water blend can be specified as a mass strength, a volume strength (ABV) or as Proof @60°F. You can also select the units for temperature for the freezing point.
The calculator covers the range from a freezing point of 0°C (32°F) corresponding to pure water down to -115°C (-175°F) corresponding to an alcohol strength of about 95% ABV (190 Proof @60°F).
