AlcoDens v2.2
Blending and Density-Concentration Conversions for Ethanol/Water

Program Description

AlcoDens performs conversions between density and concentration for pure ethanol-water mixtures. The concentration can be expressed in Mass %, Volume %, Molar % or Proof terms. It is designed for distillers, blenders and bottlers of spirits. The non-ideal behaviour of ethanol (ethyl alcohol) makes hand calculations extremely difficult and error-prone. AlcoDens solves these problems completely.

The data covers the range of temperatures from 10 to 100 °C (50 to 212 °F) and concentrations from 0 to 100%. The program will convert ethanol concentrations in Volume percent to Mass percent (Weight percent) and vice versa. Conversions can also be done to and from alcohol Proof, Molar percent or density.

Two special calculators are included for :

  • Blending solutions of ethanol-water automatically taking the volume shrinkage of ethanol-water into account.

  • Making temperature corrections for ethanol hydrometer (alcometer) readings when they are used at temperatures other than the calibration temperature. Background theory.

The temperature, density, mass and volume can be expressed in a wide variety of units, allowing you to mix and match your units as you like.

The program runs under Windows 2000 / XP / Vista
